If you can bear to leave Chris' food, there are lots of restaurants around Hiriketiya beach. For the simple life we love the Cactus Lounge near Tangalle. Wonderful for a pre-dinner snack watching the sun go down over a beautiful beach and the best fresh prawns.
You will find plenty of boards to rent on Hiriketiya beach and surfing lessons are widely available.
